Just a reminder that the winter League kicked off last sunday and will be on every Sunday morning at 10 am
Today was the final of our Winter Team League. Congratulations to all who took part, but especially to the “Bouncing Rabbits” team for winning the overall competition with a final score of 315. The competition came down to the wire between the “Big Puddens” and the “Bouncing Rabbits” but in the end, the rabbits were able to maintain their two-point lead to secure the win. The prize giving will be held at the Clubs annual Xmas party.
The club would also like to thank all those that helped set up the course each week. Without their help, we couldn’t run the club.
On a final note, we would like to thank all those non-club members that turn up each week and offer their support to the club. It is very much appreciated and we would hope that this will continue and please tell your friends as we are always open to new shooters and new members.
Next week will be the final of our Winter Team League. Hard to believe it has already been ten weeks since the start of the competition. The competition is being closely fought between The Big Puddens and The Bouncy Rabbits with only a few points separating the two teams. This will go down to the wire!
Last Sunday’s Team scores are now available below.
On the 29th September, the Club hosted a charity shoot in conjunction with Garda Anthony Connor from Ardee Station in aid of the family of the late Fintan Goss. The shoot was well attended and raised €1,000 which the Goss family requested to be paid to the Dundalk Counselling Centre. Last Friday the 5th October Gerry Kirk and Dennis Duggan from Ardee Clay Pigeon Shooting Club along with Garda Anthony Connor presented a cheque for €1,000 to Elizabeth McGuckin manager of the Dundalk Counselling Centre. We wish to thank all who participated on the day and gave their support. It was greatly appreciated.
Please find attached this week’s scores, these also include last week’s scores which for various reasons could not be posted. For the first time in the last seven weeks “The Big Puddens” have been knocked off from the top spot and “The Bouncy Rabbits” have hopped into first place.
A big thanks to everyone who supported yesterdays charity shoot.
Hard to believe but we are already 5 weeks into the winter league. The Puddens are currently in the lead but despite this early lead, the Rabbits are bouncing along on their heals.
A big thank you to all who turned up last Saturday to tidy up the grounds and change the course.
Please see below the scores from last Sunday’s shoot. Hope to see you all there on Sunday.
There will be no shoot this Thursday due to the evenings closing in. All the remaining shoots in our Team League will take place on Sunday mornings starting this Sunday (9th). Entries between 10 and 11.
The scores from last week are available below. Hope to see you all bright and early on Sunday morning.
Two weeks ago the Club Winter Team League started. This year it is made up of three teams and will run for a total of ten weeks with the best eight weekly scores deciding the overall winning team. This year we have introduced a new element to the team makeup. If you are part of the winning team you must have participated in a minimum of seven shoots to be eligible to collect a prize. This is in the interest of fairness for other team members.
Last Thursday was the final round of our 2018 Summer League. We were really blessed with the weather this year. I don’t think we had one bad evening. Well done to all who took part this year and made the effort to turn up for the shoots. Congratulations to all our Class winners:
High Gun – Connor Duggan
Class A – Darren McCooey
Class B – Simon Lucas
Class C – Mickey McMahon
The committee would like to thank all those that helped to run the competition, to all those who turned up early to set up and make changes to the course and to all those who stayed to the end and helps to tidy up the course. Without these few individuals, we would not be able to run the club.
This Thursday evening 2nd August the club will hold its annual BBQ. The BBQ is open to all those who took part in our Summer League. Before the BBQ we will hold a shoot which will start at 6pm.
Hard to believe that next Thursday is the final of the 2018 Summer League. The battle for High Gun has been strongly contested between Connor and Darren over the last few weeks and will come down to the wire in Thursday’s shoot.
Could everybody who won trophies in 2017 competition please bring them on Thursday so that we can get photographs of the winners.
Only two rounds of our Summer League Shoot remaining and we have a fight for the high gun between Darren and Connor. Both are level pegging on 399. As they have both completed their 9 shoots each bird in the remaining shoots will be critical.
The scores for last Thursday’s shoot are now available below.
