Ardee Shooting Club was originally founded in January 2006 with the intention of entering into the Leinster League shooting competition. Initially the club was formed by twelve like minded members who regularly shot at Ardee Shooting Grounds, a commercial run shooting ground owned by Mr. David Brennan.
For the first few years the club operated from this site but it was felt that for the club to grow we needed to secure our own facilities. With that in mind we relocated to another site on the Ardee Road, but it was quickly realised that this site was not suitable and the club made the decision to look for more suitable grounds.
In 2019 we moved into our current facilities located in prospect Cavan road dundalk and this site has proved to be extremely suitable and the club has grown in members on the back of this.
Each year the club takes part in the Leinster League which is made up of most clubs in the Leinster area. The club also holds its own internal Summer League which runs from May to September on a Thursday evening. We also hold a Winter League which runs from mid-September to late November switching from Thursday to Sunday morning as the daylight hours fade. During these periods the club also holds shoots in accordance with claytargetevents.ie.
