Hard to believe the summer league has been running for six weeks and we are half way through the competition. Already we can some substantial leads in the different classes but this may be down to the number of shoots each individual has done (or maybe not). Hope to see you all there next week. This evening was round five out of twelve of the Summer League. It’s hard to believe that next week we will be half way through the competition and we have been very lucky with the weather so far. I would like to remind all club members that a huge amount of work goes into setting up this competition each week and all handled by the same few dedicated members each week. I would like to encourage all members to please make the effort to turn up and take part and show your support to the club and perhaps to provide a helping hand. Last Thursdays scores are now available below. Following a committee meeting held on the grounds last week all shooters have now been classified. It was decided to retain the 4 classifications but due to the lower number of shooters only high gun and first place shooters in each class will receive a prize.

Thankfully the rain stayed away long enough on Thursday evening to allow us to have our shoot in the dry. We had 6 stands on this week with 2 of them being simm pairs. All in all an interesting course with something to challenge everybody.
We intend to hold a committee in the coming week and will decide on the classifications for the league then. It’s nice to see so many none members turning up. Below are this weeks scores.

Round 2 of the summer league this evening and thankfully it stayed dry just long enough to have our shoot. There were some nice high scores this week. Well done to all but where are the rest of you! Just over half the club turned up. Hopefully we’ll have higher numbers next week.

Today was the final of our Winter Team League. Once again we were blessed weather wise with today being a glorious day for the time of year. The competition consisted of 4 teams but unfortunately today’s shoot was merely a formality as the winners had done all the hard work before today.

The order of the winning teams are as follows:
1st – Crazy Crossers – 332.17
2nd – Double Ducks – 322.50
3rd – Lopsided Loopers – 310.08
4th – Tense Teal – 306.50

Team captain of the Crazy Crossers John Loughran was very worried over the last couple of shoots that their closest rival the Double Ducks lead by Ciaran Connor were gaining ground and would catch up. Fortunately for John and his team this was not the case, but if you look at the individual scores over the course of the shoot you will notice that Ciaran shot a higher score than John. It is clear to see there is a new kid on the block and a worthy contender for High Gun in the summer league!

The scores from today’s shoot are posted below. I was asked to post these early by some shooters (Ciaran). Unfortunately despite a good score from the Double Ducks I think it’s a case of too little too late to stop the Crazy Crossers taking the title.

Attached are the scores for this week and last week. Apologies for the delay in putting these up but circumstances alters cases. Today’s course was a well laid out course greatly helped by the good weather. I feel I must congratulate Ciaran on scoring a 43 today.

This is an excellent score taking into account all the banter that John was throwing his way today! But he who laughs last lasts longest as Ciaran bet John by one point today. Better luck next week John.

Thursday the 30th July was the final of our summer league. We would like to thank everyone who helped in the running of the league this year especially those that have sacrificed their own time in organising and setting up stands. I think all will agree they done an excellent job. Thanks to all our club members that took part and especially all the non-club members that took part this year. Due to their vast numbers we have decided to introduce a prize for the highest score amongst the visitors. Congratulations to Joe Smith on winning the visitors section.
