Winter Team League Final 2017 – 26-11-17

Today was the final of our Team League. This event has been running for the last 10 weeks with four teams participating. The teams were as follows, “Happy Hogs”, Crazy Frogs”, “Hairy Dogs” and “Lovely Logs”. As predicted the “Crazy Frogs” won the overall competition. They took the early lead and were unstoppable from there. Team “Crazy Frogs” consisted of Dennis Duggen, John O’Neill, Noreen Walsh and Darren McCooey. Congratulations to the winning team and to all that took part. The grounds will be open next Sunday as normal, I hope to see you all there.

Winter Team League 2017 – 19-11-17

Round 9 of our Winter Team League and the “Crazy Frogs” have established a lead that I don’t think can be beaten. As next week is the final week of the League I would like to take this opportunity to thank those that helped out not only in this but in the Summer League also. Without these people setting up each week, changing the course, filling traps and the many other jobs that go unseen we could not hope to run these competitions. Hope to see you all there next week for the final.

Charity Shoot 23rd September 2017

We held a charity shoot on the grounds on Saturday last with all the proceeds going to the Tenure Community First Responders Group. It was organised by local firearms officer Anthony Connor who approached local gunclubs to send shooters from their clubs.

On the day Garda Ken Burke from the Armed Response Unit attended and gave everyone an insight into the equipment in his patrol car and its operation.

We also had in attendance Eric Parkes from the http://www.irishshootersdigest.ie and Katy Duggan from  Kaptured By Katy who both have sent in the photos of the day.

Thanks to all that organised, attended and contributed to the day and Deirdre Duggan from the Tenure Community First Responders Group for the refreshments.

Winter Team League 2017 – 24-9-17

Our winter team league started again last Sunday morning. Four teams “Happy Hogs”, “Crazy Frogs”, “Hairy Dogs” & ” Lovely Logs” braved the early light of Sunday morning to do battle on the field of honour. I really wish the shooting was that good but at least it was a very nice course. The scores are attached below. Hope to see you all next week in support of your teams.

Summer League Final 2017 – 17-8-17

Well that’s our Summer League finished for another year. The twelve weeks went by so quickly. A big thank you to all who were involved in setting up the course each week, setting the course, filling traps, making sure that batteries were taken out and brought back in each week. Without their help we couldn’t run the league or the club

Congratulations to all our winners this year:

High Gun – John Loughran
Class AA – Darren McCooey
Class A – Thomas Lennon
Class B – Connor Duggan
Class C – Martin Carroll

A special thanks to our regular visitors that turn up every week and support the summer league – Joe, Mickey, Freddie and Tony. As they are regular participants of the shoot, we record their scores. Congratulations to Joe for winning the visitors class.

This year we also decided to hold a BBQ to mark the end of the league and luckily the weather Gods were smiling on us and it was a perfect evening. We would like to thank Gerry, Skippy and Darren for arranging everything. It was a brilliant evening which I think we will have to repeat next year. A selection of photos from the evening can be seen on our Photograph page.

Summer League 2017 – 10-8-17

Hard to believe that 11 weeks have passed already and next week is penultimate round of the 2017 Summer League. The race is on for the High Gun and will come down to this final shoot to decide who will be High Gun. Only 3 points separate the top two shooters. Anybody who has perpetual trophies from last years’ shoot, can you please ensure that you bring them with you next week. Please could all club members make an extra effort to come for the final shoot. Hope to see you all there.
